Missing Memories

Its only been a short time since you were born and now there are days I've missed.
Those days have turned to months and now the months have turned to years.

In that time, you've grown up and began to raise your own family.
Now once more, I'm missing time and memories of seeing your children grow.

I cry for the days you needed me and I wasn't able to be with you.
I cry for the days you had things to share and I wasn't there.

Now I cry for these same things for your children.
I cry for not being closer that I might have grown to know them better.
I cry for missing all the special events in their young lives.

I cry for all the missing memories lost to time.

  1. This poem is very sad to me. I like it, but it is still sad. I am glad to see you posting some of your poetry, though. I can't wait to see what else you're going to share.

We seem to think sort of alike... I started working on a separate photographic journal a few days ago. If I ever get the time to update my daily journal, the photography journal will go online next.

It's fun to be creative and see other people's creativity. :-)

  2. Thanks DJ...it came after I was on my daughter inlaw's myspace page...she did such a beautiful photo tribute to family and friends. Seeing some of my son's younger pictures and all of the pictures of the grandsons really made me sad...
But, on the plus side...its seems to release my creative side...lol
